Questions about driving lessons
What to bring, what lessons cost and how to arrange your first booking.
Read all lesson FAQsI’ve never driven before. Is that okay?
Yes. Your instructor can introduce the car’s controls, checks and moving off before building up to more demanding roads. Tell Nida you’re a complete beginner when you enquire.
Can I learn in a manual or automatic car?
Yes. Choose manual lessons to learn clutch control and gear changes, or automatic tuition without manual gear changes. Give Nida your postcode and preference so we can check local instructor availability.
What do I need for my first lesson?
You’ll need a valid UK provisional driving licence for lessons. We’ll confirm the meeting point and anything else to bring when arranging your booking.
What happens in my first driving lesson?
Your instructor will discuss your experience, introduce the seat, mirrors and controls, and explain basic checks. For a beginner, early practice includes moving off and stopping in suitable conditions. If you have driven before, explain what you have already learnt so the lesson starts at the right level.

Lessons are usually arranged in one- or two-hour slots, depending on your goals and instructor availability. Confirm the duration of each lesson before booking a block.
How much do lessons cost?
Published prices start at £35 per hour, £170 for a five-lesson block and £330 for a ten-lesson block. Your final quote, lesson lengths and availability will be confirmed before you book.
